NEW Ways to Play with Your Puzzles!

Does your family have a collection of puzzles lying around – perhaps ones that your kids have either outgrown or memorized? This week, Blog Ambassador Amy Mascott (teachmama) shared her family’s favorite activities using the puzzles they already own in NEW ways!  Some ideas from Amy include:

–          Playing “Puzzle Mash Up” or “Speed Puzzle” for a little friendly family competition,

–          Setting up a “Puzzle Hunt” to get the kids up and moving, and

–          Holding a “Puzzle Race” amongst family members or friends.

For her entire list of suggested activities, check out her recent blog post!

“We’re Going On an Indoor Bug Safari!”

Kids LOVE to go outside and explore. But, just because the weather may be less-than-perfect now, doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy some of your favorite springtime activities!  Guest blogger Sarah (Zoe’s Lunchbox) shares some of her favorite ways to use our Sunny Patch toys all year-round! Read her post for ways to:

–         Hold a very special Bug Hunt,

–         Make some “not-so-icky” bug-themed treats, and

–         Play search & find with your favorite fake bugs (MUCH better than real bugs, we say!)

Creative Play Activities – With Costumes!

During the winter months, dress-up costume play can give children the thrill of exploring new worlds, right from their playrooms! In this week’s blog post, Melissa shares some insights on the importance of role-play in child’s development:

“Dressing up can help kids get rid of fears and inhibitions, “act out” something they may not be comfortable expressing otherwise, and develop social awareness and self-confidence!”

If you have a big bin of dress-up, but are a little lacking in inspiration, check out our 3 activity ideas to kick off your costume play!
