This week on the Melissa & Doug blog, we went back to the “basics:” Basic supplies every craft closet needs, simple puzzle extension activities,  and some easy ways you can survive a grocery store trip – with a toddler!  Here’s a round-up of what we shared:

How can you get kids engaged (and well-behaved) while grocery shopping? Tiffany from shared her tips this week, which include:

1)      Using Play Food and a toy shopping cart to create your own mock grocery store,

2)      Writing a shopping list for your child, and ask her to go around the house and find the things on your list,

3)      Asking the child for input, such as “what should we make for dinner tonight?”
