Camp Sunny Patch honor counselor Jenae describes her family’s cool experience with our  Session 3 activity, Splish! Splash! Boom!:

Hi there! I’m Jenae from ICanTeachMyChild.com and my boys and I have been having a blast following along with all of the fun activities from Camp Sunny Patch!

There is nothing like having some wet, soggy fun . . . and it’s one of the best ways to beat the heat in the summertime! We had the pleasure of completing the Splish! Splash! Boom! activity from Camp Sunny Patch this past week and it was a HUGE hit for the whole family! In case you missed this post the first time around, go here for the printable instructions.

Splish: Playing Fish, Fish, Shark

The first activity was similar to Duck-Duck-Goose . . . only with a little water and a different name. The person who is “it” calls out “fish” (just like the “duck”) while squirting water on the person’s head. Once the child chooses the “shark” (aka goose), they squeeze a water-filled ball on top of the child’s head and run around the circle!

It probably would have been even more fun had we had a slightly larger crowd, but the four of us enjoyed playing it together nonetheless.

Splash: Water Bucket Relay

Sponges + Water + Buckets = FUN!

The activity was simple: Soak a sponge in a water-filled bucket and carry it to an empty bucket several feet away. Squeeze out all the water and race back to start again!

It’s such a joy to give a child a playful goal and watch the creativity explode! Nobody told Little Brother that he could only use 1 sponge at a time . . . so he used that to his advantage! 🙂

Boom: Playing Water Baseball

We used a foam bat, a water-soaked baby toy, and chalk-drawn bases for our very own version of baseball on the driveway.

Apparently we need to work on holding the bat with both hands!

Every hit is a home run!

We had such a great time with each of these fun games! They provided us with some much-needed family bonding time . . . with lots of laughs and giggles. Each of these games would also be excellent in a group setting: with a class, a church group, or even a birthday party!
