Creative Play Quick Tip: Fresh Air for Bears!

Teddy Bears

Celebrate National Teddy Bear Picnic Day by giving your child’s favorite stuffed animal a day in the sun!
Everyone knows that bears love sweets—pretend sweets, most of all! Treat your fuzzy buddy to an outdoor dessert party that won’t attract the ants by bringing arts and crafts outdoors.
Use paper plates as your palate, and kids can draw on their favorite foods with crayons or markers. Or pick an all-in-one activity pad, which offers lots of creative inspiration—and less to carry! Our Sweets & Treats Sticker Pad lets kids fill colorful pages with favorite desserts—decorating cakes, icing cookies and topping cupcakes with candies and more. You can also bring along our Bake & Decorate Cupcake Set, Slice & Bake Cookies or any of our tantalizing play-food treats!
Pack up all your pretend-food treats in a picnic basket and find a comfy blanket. Then grab at least one stuffed animal for every person and head outdoors!
Remind the kids: If there’s one thing teddy bears like more than sweets, it’s sharing with other animals! Be sure to invite all your plush friends: dogs, cats, giraffes, fish. . . . The more the merrier!

Melissa & Doug is all about creative play! Every toy we make is designed to inspire exploration, learning and lots of fun. As toy makers and as parents, we never stop thinking up new ways to play . . . and we love sharing them with you! We hope you enjoy a peek inside our “playbook,” which is filled with ideas for using your toys in new ways and making playtime more enriching, imaginative and joyful every day.
